The Troop
Project Summary
The Troop is a horror feature in development at Paramount Primal, the studio's genre label led by J. D. Lifshitz and Raphael Margules. Chris Basler is writing the screenplay, adapting Nick Cutter's 2014 horror novel about a scout troop's camping trip that turns deadly when a stranger brings a parasitic infection to their remote island. Lyrical Media is set to produce, with Tracy Rosenblum overseeing for Paramount Primal. The novel, written by Canadian author Craig Davidson under the pen name Nick Cutter, won the James Herbert Award for Horror Writing and has been praised by Stephen King. With Paramount Primal focused on smartly budgeted genre films, the project joins the label's growing slate of horror, action, and science fiction titles.
