Paramount Primal is the genre-focused film production and distribution label of Paramount Pictures, publicly named on July 13, 2026, and led by producers J.D. Lifshitz and Raphael Margules — the former principals of BoulderLight Pictures (Barbarian, Weapons, Companion, Friendship). The label partners with next-generation storytellers and established filmmakers to produce smartly budgeted, high-concept, boundary-pushing films across horror, comedy, action, and grounded science fiction. Operating on the Paramount/Melrose lot, the label launched in late 2025 and quickly moved into high gear, with headline projects including a new A Nightmare on Elm Street adaptation and the R-rated ensemble comedy Boys for Life (dated April 9, 2027).
