The Mercy Rider

The Mercy Rider reunites Avatar star Stephen Lang with director Uli Edel nearly four decades after they collaborated on Last Exit to Brooklyn. Lang stars as Joe McCabe, a former soldier and reclusive Texas rancher who decides to fight back against immigration authorities after they detain a local father. Irish actor Jack Hudson co-stars as Harvey 'Hawk' Walters, a hard-line immigration agent who becomes McCabe's adversary. The screenplay is written by Richard Julian. G. Mac Brown, who worked as line producer on Last Exit to Brooklyn and executive producer on The Departed and The Upside, will produce alongside Hudson. The modern-day Western thriller is set to shoot in Mexico, marking a reunion for Lang and Edel 37 years after their breakthrough collaboration.
