The God of the Woods

The God of the Woods is Netflix's series adaptation of Liz Moore's 2024 bestselling novel, now filming in upstate New York. Showrunners Liz Moore and Liz Hannah lead the project, which stars Maya Hawke as Judy Luptack, the first female investigator in the Bureau of Criminal Investigation assigned to unravel the Van Laar family's dark secrets. Kerry Condon plays Alice Van Laar, with Ella Rubin joining as camp counselor Louise Donnadieu. The drama explores class tensions and privilege in the Adirondacks through a multi-generational mystery. Production began June 12, 2026, filming across the Hudson River Valley and Adirondack Mountains through fall. Sony Pictures Television produces alongside Original Film, with Neal H. Moritz and Pavun Shetty executive producing.
