The Birds

The Birds returns as a limited series, with Emmy winner Sarah Snook attached to star as Myra Massey, a traveling magistrate who returns to her isolated Alaskan hometown for what should be a routine presumptive death hearing. Instead, she discovers her childhood friend's bullet-ridden body and is forced to step outside her judicial role to investigate. As she unravels the mystery, nature itself turns hostile with deadly waves of bird attacks descending upon the town. Tom Spezialy writes and executive produces, bringing his experience from The Leftovers and Watchmen to this visceral reimagining inspired by both Alfred Hitchcock's 1963 film and Daphne du Maurier's original 1952 short story. The project comes from Universal International Studios and Heyday Television, David Heyman's joint venture with UIS. The package is currently being presented to buyers, with no network or streaming platform attached yet.
