Storm Dogs

Storm Dogs is a family adventure feature in development at UK-based production company Particle 6, with Rob Minkoff attached as creative lead and executive producer. The Lion King co-director will collaborate with Particle 6 CEO Eline van der Velden on developing the story, characters, and screenplay ahead of a planned 2027 production start. Based on an original idea from van der Velden, the film follows five dogs who must work together to bring two-year-old Poppy safely home after she becomes separated from her caregiver during a catastrophic storm in an English village. Set over 24 hours, the story follows the unlikely pack as they navigate flooded fields, damaged bridges, and storm-transformed countryside. The production will combine live-action performances with photorealistic animated characters, with human roles filmed conventionally while the dogs and toddler will be created through a hybrid approach combining performance capture, traditional filmmaking techniques, and emerging AI tools.
