Snoop

Snoop is gearing up for principal photography in Los Angeles, with Craig Brewer directing from his revision of Joe Robert Cole's script. Jonathan Daviss stars as the young Calvin Broadus Jr. navigating the West Coast hip-hop scene of the early 1990s. The project reunites Universal with the hip-hop biopic space following Straight Outta Compton's success, and marks the first production from Death Row Pictures' overall deal with NBCUniversal. Brian Grazer produces alongside Snoop Dogg and Death Row Pictures president Sara Ramaker. Production is set to roll in Los Angeles this summer, with the film incorporating music from Snoop's extensive catalog. Universal has slated the R-rated feature for theatrical release in August 2027.
