Project Summary
Serpentine is a psychological thriller moving into pre-production with Dream State Studios and Brand in Entertainment. Director Darren Lynn Bousman, known for helming Saw II through IV and Spiral, has come aboard to direct from a script by Valerie Palencar, who also serves as President of Dream State Studios. The film centers on a woman attempting to escape a dangerous life in a seemingly quiet New England town, only to find herself pulled into a web of criminals, corrupt law enforcement, and local power players connected to the competitive figure skating world. Bousman describes the project as existing in a darkly funny, Fargo-esque world. Brand in Entertainment CEO Rolfe J. Auerbach is executive producing, with the film being financed partly through integrated brand partnerships. The production is being staged in the New York area.
