Satan's Slaves: Origin

Satan's Slaves: Origin is the third installment in Joko Anwar's horror franchise, built as a standalone prequel that explores the ancient roots of the cult and demonic pact from the first two films. Written and directed by Anwar, the production represents his most ambitious project to date, spanning two continents and filmed in seven languages including Indonesian, Alsatian, Portuguese, Javanese, Dutch, Turkish, and Latin. The story opens with an outbreak of mass hysteria in 16th-century Strasbourg based on a real 1518 incident, then shifts to a haunted lighthouse on Java's southern coast in the 17th century. Rapi Films is producing, with Come and See Pictures, Sky Media, and Legacy Pictures co-producing. Barunson E&A has boarded worldwide sales and will launch the project to international buyers at the Toronto Film Festival market in September 2026. The film is currently in pre-production, targeting a 2027 theatrical release in Indonesia.
