Recent Alien Abductions

Recent Alien Abductions is the West Coast premiere of the 2017 Humana Festival of New American Plays hit, commissioned by Playwrights Horizon and written by New York-based playwright Jorge Ignacio Cortiñas. Part family drama, part examination of personal and cultural alienation, the play follows Álvaro, a queer Puerto Rican artist who believes he has unraveled a real-life conspiracy embedded in an early episode of The X-Files. Years later, a close friend arrives at Álvaro's family home hoping to get permission to publish his plays. What she uncovers while there means Álvaro might have been right all along. The production will be a centerpiece show in Sacred Fools Theater Company's season-long celebration of their 30th year. The venue is The Broadwater Main Stage in Los Angeles, California.
