Project Summary
Out of the Shadows is a scripted drama series in development from Emmy-winning writer Terence Winter and director-producer Dan Farah. The project adapts Jay Stratton's forthcoming memoir detailing his role as former director of the Pentagon's Unidentified Aerial Phenomena Task Force and his investigation of UAP encounters over sensitive military sites. Winter, known for The Sopranos and Boardwalk Empire, will executive produce through his Cold Front Productions banner, while Farah produces through Farah Films after acquiring the film and television rights to the book. Stratton co-founded the Advanced Aerospace Weapons System Application Program, the first official U. S. government UAP investigation since Project Blue Book ended in 1969. The series is currently seeking distribution, with no network, production timeline, or cast attached. Stratton's memoir releases October 13, 2026 through HarperCollins imprint William Morrow.
