Project Summary

Los Eastman is a Colombian psychological thriller from writer-director Mauricio Leiva-Cock that has recently secured co-production partnerships with France's Urban Factory and Mexico's Fidelio Films. The project was selected for the Fantastic Round Robin at Cannes' Fantastic Pavilion, where the deal was finalized in May 2026. Set in Bogotá during a virus outbreak, the film follows a housekeeper held captive by her wealthy employers whose struggle to escape leads to a violent transformation. Co-written by Leiva-Cock and Diego González Cruz, the film is produced by Cuatro Ojos, the new production company formed by Leiva-Cock with partners Sebastián Hernández, Juan Manuel Betancourt, and Daniela Echeverri. Additional Colombian production partners include Maleza Cinema, Ruvrika, and producer Adriana Aparicio. The project has garnered significant industry support, winning 13 awards at the 2025 BAM Production Meetings and receiving honors at Sitges FanPitch and the Sanfic Mórbido Lab. Principal photography is scheduled to begin in January 2027.
