Project Summary
Jessica Simpson is back in front of the cameras for a feature documentary directed by Joe Pearlman, the filmmaker behind Netflix's Robbie Williams and Lewis Capaldi: How I'm Feeling Now. The project is produced by Gunpowder & Sky, with Van Toffler — who originally oversaw Simpson's groundbreaking MTV reality series Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica — returning as a producer. The documentary examines Simpson's journey from late-1990s pop star to billion-dollar fashion mogul, including her return to music in 2025 with the Nashville Canyon EPs after a 15-year hiatus. Executive producers include Barry Barclay, Floris Bauer, Joanna Zwickel, Joe Pearlman, and Jonathan Silberberg. The documentary is currently in production for a 2027 release on Netflix.
