I Won't Dance

I Won't Dance is a YA ballroom romantic comedy entering pre-production under the direction of Christine Lakin, making her feature directorial debut. Jordan Fisher stars as Xavier, the charismatic bad boy of competitive ballroom, opposite his longtime rival Alaina in an enemies-to-lovers story set in the high-stakes world of ballroom dance. When both dancers lose their partners just weeks before the National Rising Star Championship, they must decide whether to compete together or lose everything. The screenplay comes from veteran ballroom dancer Allison Johnson, with choreography led by Dancing with the Stars Mirror Ball champion Sharna Burgess. The producing team includes Alexandra Olivia Engelson of Magic & Moxie Productions, Toni D'Antonio of Shake the Tree Productions, Samantha Bowen, Allison Johnson of Love Laugh Dance Films, and Fisher himself. Production is slated to begin in February 2027 in the Canary Islands, with Hulahoop Media serving as international partner and Film! Canary Islands handling production services.
