Hunting Whitey Bulger

Hunting Whitey Bulger is a three-part true-crime docuseries ordered by Hulu, with Ben Affleck serving as narrator and executive producer through his Artists Equity banner. The project draws from the bestselling book by investigative journalists Casey Sherman and Dave Wedge, presenting fresh reporting on the Winter Hill Gang leader's 16-year run as a fugitive, his 2011 capture, and his 2018 death in prison. Director Zackary Canepari helms the series, produced by Tom Forman's Terminal B TV alongside executive producers David Metzler and showrunner Claire Read. The docuseries features previously unseen handwritten letters Bulger penned while imprisoned and exclusive interviews with key players speaking on camera for the first time. The project joins Hulu's expanding true-crime slate and marks another Boston-centered collaboration for Affleck, who previously attempted to develop a scripted Bulger film with Matt Damon that never moved forward.
