Project Summary

Helo is a police helicopter action thriller currently in development at Netflix, with Colombian director Andrés Baiz attached to helm the feature. Patrick Aison, who wrote the recent Predator films Prey and Predator: Badlands, penned the screenplay based on a concept pitched by producers Edward Berger and Luke Rivett. Berger, the Oscar-nominated filmmaker behind All Quiet on the Western Front and Conclave, is producing through his Nine Hours banner alongside partner Rivett. Netflix executives are enthusiastic about the project, which has been described as offering a fresh and distinct take on the police helicopter angle. Baiz recently wrapped production on the Jamie Foxx sports drama Fight for 84 for Netflix and has a strong track record with the streamer, having directed Narcos, Griselda, and episodes of The Sandman. Plot details are being kept under wraps, though sources describe the project as combining the gritty street-level intensity of End of Watch with the aerial spectacle of Top Gun.
