Project Summary
Heklina is a feature documentary in development from UK-based CMG Productions, exploring the life of internationally renowned drag performer Heklina and the circumstances surrounding her death in London in April 2023. The project is led by producer India Woods at CMG Productions, whose recent credits include The Devil on Trial for Netflix and American Zoo. The documentary is an international co-production with US-based producer Brian Benson and senior editor Ronna Malson. Longtime friend and collaborator Peaches Christ serves as a co-producer, bringing personal perspective to the film. The documentary will draw from Heklina's recently digitized performance archive and feature interviews with friends, collaborators, and performers she inspired. Partners from the UK, US, and Iceland are attached to the production, with further partners to be announced.
