Good in the Room
Project Summary
Good in the Room is currently in production in Montreal, an indie crime thriller co-written by Mark O'Brien and director Pat Kiely. O'Brien stars as Charlie, a former hockey player who teams up with ex-teammate Julius (Andrew "King Bach" Bachelor) to rob the sport's biggest star, JP (Eric Bruneau), who is also Charlie's best friend. The cast includes Laysla De Oliveira, Maia Jae, and Juliette Gariepy. Kiely is producing alongside Philippe Chabot for Banner House Productions and Julian Geneen for Grand Touring Productions, with executive producers including Ryan Bobkin, Albert Shin, Mark Slone, SardΓ© Hardie, and O'Brien. Filmed entirely on 16mm, the project channels 1970s crime thrillers and explores themes of jealousy, envy, and loyalty through the lens of hockey culture. The film is produced with support from Telefilm Canada, SODEC, and Crave, and will be distributed by Maison 4:3 in Quebec and Photon Films elsewhere in Canada.
