General Victor Hale

After a covert U. S. military operation spirals into unintended global escalation, international systems begin to fracture, pushing world powers into political collapse. In the chaos, a classified evacuation protocol is activated-reserved only for senior defense leadership. General Victor Hale is extracted from Earth under the pretense of continuing strategic command aboard a deep-space vessel bound for Mars. But what begins as an orderly escape quickly unravels: communication with Earth goes dark, internal authority breaks down, and the mission becomes increasingly unstable as the ship drifts beyond reach of any nation. Cut off from oversight and entirely itself, Hale finds his command reduced to silence. The farther the vessel travels from Earth, the more the operation begins to resemble not a rescue-but exile.
