Firefly: Still Flying

Firefly: Still Flying is an animated series in development through Nathan Fillion's production banner Collision33 in partnership with 20th Television Animation. The project brings back the entire surviving cast of the original cult space-western — Nathan Fillion, Alan Tudyk, Gina Torres, Morena Baccarin, Jewel Staite, Sean Maher, Summer Glau, and Adam Baldwin — to reprise their roles. Showrunners Marc Guggenheim and Tara Butters have completed a script for the debut episode, titled 'Athenia,' and early concept art has been developed by Oscar- and Emmy-winning animation studio ShadowMachine. The series is set in the timeline between the original 2002 television run and the 2005 feature film Serenity, expanding the universe while preserving continuity. Original creator Joss Whedon is not involved but has given his blessing. The fully assembled package is being taken out to buyers, with Fillion and the cast actively rallying fan support on social media to help secure a distribution deal.
