Détective numéro un is currently in production in Montreal for Crave, with a ten-episode first season slated for winter 2027. The French-language comedy stars Pierre-Yves Roy-Desmarais as Oscar Bougie, a hapless detective who abandons his failing career to study interior design at cégep, where he befriends three younger students. When a case involving a stolen knick-knack draws him back into detective work, Oscar and his new friends uncover a darker conspiracy. The series is produced by Encore Télévision, with Roy-Desmarais co-creating and co-writing alongside Alec Pronovost and Samuel Cantin. Pronovost directs, with Rafaële Germain serving as script editor. The ensemble cast includes Claude Meunier, Laurence Lebœuf, Diane Lavallée, Yves Jacques, François Létourneau, and Denis Houle. Production is underway in Montreal as of August 2026.
