Project Summary
Carrying is a horror feature in development at Good Girl Productions, based on Samantha Josephs' upcoming debut novel. Tommy Dorfman is attached to direct and produce, with Josephs adapting her own screenplay. The story follows Martha, a trans woman living stealth—her identity unknown even to her family—who faces a mysterious chronic illness and an impossible pregnancy. Good Girl Productions launched in 2025 with a focus on queer-centered film, television, and theater projects. The company's slate also includes adaptations of Torrey Peters' Detransition, Baby and Allie Rowbottom's Aesthetica. The source novel publishes October 6, 2026 through Putnam/Penguin Random House and was recently shortlisted for the Center for Fiction First Novel Prize.
