Project Summary
Bianco, directed by Daniele Vicari, is currently in post-production following a demanding three-month shoot at altitudes between 3,000 and 3,500 meters in Italy's Aosta Valley and South Tyrol. The drama stars Alessandro Borghi as legendary Italian alpinist Walter Bonatti, who led the ill-fated 1961 expedition to conquer the Frêney central pillar on Mont Blanc. The €11. 5 million Italy-France-Belgium co-production is produced by Be Water Film, Rai Cinema, The Project Film Club, and Tarantula, with Rai Cinema International Distribution handling world sales. Key crew includes cinematographer Gherardo Gossi, editor Benni Atria, and VFX by Benuts. The film is adapted from Marco Albino Ferrari's book Frêney 1961 – La tempesta sul Monte Bianco, with a screenplay by Vicari, Massimo Gaudioso, Francesca Manieri, and Ferrari. Post-production is slated for completion in Q4 2026, with Italian theatrical distribution through 01 Distribution.
