Rai Cinema

Rai Cinema S.p.A. is Italy's leading film production and domestic distribution company, wholly owned by RAI, the Italian national public broadcaster. Incorporated on 1 December 1999 (with operations commencing 1 June 2000), the company has invested nearly €1 billion in the co-production of over 900 films, supporting roughly 50–80 feature films per year. Through its domestic distribution division 01 Distribution and its international sales arm Rai Cinema International Distribution (launched February 2024), it is the dominant force in Italian independent and auteur cinema, both domestically and on the global stage. As of 2024, the company reported revenue of €284 million, net income of €13.4 million, and employs approximately 165 people.
