Project Summary
Artemis Fowl is returning to screens as an animated series for Disney Channel and Disney+. The project was announced at New York Comic Con during the franchise's 25th anniversary celebration, with author Eoin Colfer joining as executive producer alongside Ben Juwono, whose credits include Marvel's Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur, and Colleen Evanson, known for her work on DuckTales and Monsters at Work. The action-adventure series will follow the 13-year-old criminal mastermind as he discovers an underground civilization of technologically advanced fairies and devises a plan to capture one and steal its magic to heal his seriously ill mother. Disney has greenlit the project for both Disney Channel and Disney+, though no production timeline, voice cast, or animation studio has been announced yet. The series marks Disney's second attempt at adapting Colfer's eight-book franchise, which has sold over 35 million copies worldwide, following the poorly received 2020 live-action film.
