TV Globo

TV Globo (branded as tvglobo) is Brazil's dominant free-to-air television network, launched on April 26, 1965, by Roberto Marinho and owned by Grupo Globo. It is the largest commercial TV network in Latin America, the second-largest in the world by annual revenue (behind ABC/Disney), and the world's largest producer of telenovelas, reaching 99.5% of the Brazilian population through 5 owned-and-operated stations and 131 affiliates. The network produces approximately 2,400 hours of entertainment and 3,000 hours of journalism per year, has won 14 International Emmy Awards, and distributes Brazilian content to more than 190 countries through its international divisions and streaming service Globoplay.
