About

Elastica Films is a Spanish independent film production and distribution company founded in 2021 in Valencia by producer María Zamora and distributor Enrique Costa, both former partners of Madrid-based Avalon. The company specialises in arthouse and crossover cinema, championing female-directed and auteur films, and is best known as the lead producer of the Berlin Golden Bear–winning Alcarràs (2022) and as the Spanish distributor of international hits such as Anatomy of a Fall, The Substance, and Backrooms. In June 2026, Spanish arthouse streaming platform Filmin acquired Elastica's distribution operations in a landmark deal, with both companies continuing to operate autonomously while collaborating on acquisitions and sharing Filmin's digital infrastructure.
