We Were Liars (Season 2)

We Were Liars is heading back into production for its second season on Prime Video. The mystery-thriller series, created by showrunners Julie Plec and Carina Adly MacKenzie, was renewed in September 2025 following a strong first-season performance that reached #1 on Prime Video's Top 10. Season 2 will film from June through October 2026 in Halifax and Lunenburg, Nova Scotia—the same locations that doubled for the fictional Beechwood Island in Season 1. The new season will adapt E. Lockhart's prequel novel Family of Liars, exploring the Sinclair sisters' teenage years in 1999, while continuing the present-day storyline. Returning cast includes Emily Alyn Lind, Joseph Zada, Mamie Gummer, Caitlin FitzGerald, and Candice King, with six new series regulars recently added: Josh Dallas, Peyton List, Madison Wolfe, Parker Lapaine, Elysia Roorbach, and Costa D'Angelo. Universal Television and Amazon MGM Studios are producing.
