Julianne Moore will star in and executive produce an untitled multi-generational comedy for Netflix, marking a shift to lighter material after recent dramatic roles. The project comes from Higher Ground Productions, the company founded by Barack and Michelle Obama, with Anikah McLaren producing and Maggie Sheridan writing the screenplay. The ensemble film is described as a four-hander that follows a mother who panics when her daughter is offered a career opportunity across the country and kicks into overdrive trying to find her the perfect romantic match to keep her home. The film continues Netflix's first-look partnership with Higher Ground, which has produced titles including Leave the World Behind and Rustin.
