Untitled Jesse Eisenberg TV Series

Jesse Eisenberg is developing an untitled television series for A24, set to be shopped to buyers in the coming weeks. Eisenberg wrote the project and will direct and executive produce, with Peter Rice also serving as executive producer. The series is based on one of Eisenberg's short stories and follows an 18-year-old woman in the fall of 2002 whose beliefs are challenged by new ideas and relationships, exploring what Eisenberg describes as the beginning of the culture wars. Netflix is considered a likely buyer given Rice's recent appointment as the streamer's chief content officer and A24's existing relationship with the platform on shows like Beef. While Rice developed the project under his A24 deal, his new Netflix role means he's expected to have limited hands-on involvement going forward but will retain his executive producer credit. The series marks Eisenberg's return to television following his work on FX's Fleishman Is in Trouble.
