Project Summary
The Stormlight Archive is in early development as a 10-episode fantasy series for Apple TV+, adapting Brandon Sanderson's expansive literary universe known as the Cosmere. The project is currently searching for a showrunner, with Sanderson personally interviewing candidates while simultaneously writing a significant portion of the series himself. Blue Marble Pictures, led by former WME agent Theresa Kang, is attached to executive produce. The series follows the Mistborn film adaptation in Apple's production timeline, with Sanderson planning to complete the Mistborn screenplay before turning his full attention to writing the Stormlight pilot and first season. The adaptation represents one of Apple TV+'s most ambitious fantasy undertakings, drawing comparisons to Game of Thrones in scope and scale.
