The Passion According to Carmen

The Passion According to Carmen marks the directorial debut of Chilean actress Paulina García, who won the Silver Bear at Berlin for her performance in Gloria. The feature follows Carmen, a journalist who appears to have a stable life with her husband and daughter, but is grieving her grandmother's death. On her 50th birthday, she follows her estranged daughter to a feminist protest, where an unexpected awakening leads her to meet Lina and discover a transformative new existence. García co-wrote the screenplay with Mariana Loyola and Josefina Fernández, and the film is being produced through their newly launched production company Cautiva, in partnership with Storyboard Media. Loyola stars as Carmen while García plays Lina.
