Project Summary
The Extremely Embarrassing Life of Lottie Brooks is headed to television as a live-action series from Studiocanal and Deadpan Pictures. Based on Katie Kirby's bestselling illustrated book series, the adaptation follows the chaotic and relatable Brooks family, centering on eldest daughter Lottie as she faces the mortifying realities of growing up. Comedian and writer Josie Long and playwright Holly Phillips are adapting the books for television, with Ailish McElmeel producing for Deadpan Pictures. Studiocanal Stories, the studio's in-house book-to-screen label, negotiated the rights, while M-K Kennedy and Paul Gilbert oversee for Studiocanal. The nine-book series has sold over 3 million copies worldwide and been translated into more than 30 languages. The project is currently in development as part of Studiocanal's family-friendly franchise strategy.
