Project Summary
In 1992, after bombing their first gig at a church in the buckle of the Bible Belt, four teenage misfits discover the liberating power of funk music and set out to find their voice in time for a Battle of the Bands that could change their lives forever. The story follows Josh, a 16-year-old lead singer/songwriter and rhythm guitarist of The Screaming Mimes, a ragtag garage band in rural Arkansas in the early '90s, as he navigates the tension between conformity and authenticity, ultimately discovering his own artistic voice through music, friendship, and emotional honesty. Filming in Arkansas from November 2 to 20, 2026.
