Project Summary
Scissor Mouth is an independent horror feature written and directed by Deborah Richards and produced by 1905 Films. The Southern Gothic thriller is set in the early 1980s and follows a teenage girl who escapes years of captivity at the hands of her beauty-obsessed mother, leaving a bloody trail of deadly makeovers across rural West Texas. Tara Reid and Johnny Pemberton are attached to star. The screenplay placed second in the horror category at the 2025 Slamdance Screenplay Competition and was selected for the 2026 Grey List. Patrick Wirtz is producing for 1905 Films, the Las Vegas-based boutique studio co-founded by Richards and Wirtz. The project is slated to shoot in New Mexico in 2027, with pre-production and crewing expected to ramp up in advance of the shoot.
