Project Summary
Lionsgate and Blumhouse Atomic Monster are moving forward with the next Saw feature, the first installment since the franchise returned to its original architect James Wan, now producing alongside Jason Blum and franchise co-creator Leigh Whannell. Mike P. Nelson has been tapped to direct from a script by Gregory Weidman and Geoff Tock, known for their work on Dune: Prophecy. Nelson, whose creature feature Beware Boiúna arrives in theaters October 2, previously helmed the Wrong Turn reboot and Silent Night, Deadly Night remake. The production reunites the creative team behind the series that launched as a low-budget indie at Sundance 2004 and has since become the longest-running theatrical horror franchise with a continuous mythology. Executive producers include Mark Burg, Oren Koules, Stacey Testro, Michael Clear, and Judson Scott, with Alayna Glasthal and Sarah Paek overseeing for Blumhouse Atomic Monster.
