Project Summary

Quiet Land marks Swiss-French director Ursula Meier's English-language debut, a noir-inflected detective drama set in Montana's Big Sky country. The film follows Connor McCluskey, a respected Highway Patrolman in his early seventies who photographs accident scenes with an analog camera while investigating two mysterious fatal crashes. After a medical evaluation leads to his dismissal, McCluskey continues his investigation independently, concerned that Maggy Jones, a 70-year-old local landowner, may be in similar danger. The project is produced by Switzerland's Bandita Films, France's Cinéfacture, and U. S. -based Animal Kingdom Films, with international sales handled by Memento Films International. The production is currently seeking closing finance at the Venice Gap-Financing Market in September 2026, with at least 70% of its budget already in place. Meier co-wrote the screenplay with Michel Caulea, drawing inspiration from her earlier collaboration with Gillian Anderson on Sister.
