Project Summary
Petra Doesn't Want to Die (Anatomy of Masculinity) is a dramatic sequel to North Macedonian filmmaker Teona Mitevska's 2019 Berlinale competition title God Exists, Her Name is Petrunya. Written by Mitevska and frequent collaborator Elma Tataragić, the film follows a teenage feminist from Belgium diagnosed with multiple mental health conditions who travels to North Macedonia, where she encounters Nenad, a millennial incel in the provincial town of Makedonska Kamenica. The project was announced by Mitevska at the 2026 Sarajevo Film Festival, where she described it as a continuation and counterpoint to the original film's feminist themes, this time examining masculinity through the lens of the manosphere and men's rights movements. The production is in early development with no production timeline or financing details yet announced.
