Petra Doesn't Want to Die (Anatomy of Masculinity)

Petra Doesn't Want to Die (Anatomy of Masculinity) is a dramatic sequel to North Macedonian filmmaker Teona Mitevska's 2019 Berlinale competition title God Exists, Her Name is Petrunya. Written by Mitevska and frequent collaborator Elma Tataragić, the film follows a teenage feminist from Belgium diagnosed with multiple mental health conditions who travels to North Macedonia, where she encounters Nenad, a millennial incel in the provincial town of Makedonska Kamenica. The project was announced by Mitevska at the 2026 Sarajevo Film Festival, where she described it as a continuation and counterpoint to the original film's feminist themes, this time examining masculinity through the lens of the manosphere and men's rights movements.
