Project Summary
New Diamond Restaurant is currently in production in British Columbia, marking the feature directorial debut of writer-director Milton Ng. The indie genre-bender blends zombie horror, action, and family comedy as it follows Aaron Chan, played by Curtis Lum, who returns home to his family's Chinese restaurant in the fictional prairie town of Saint-Legal to tell his father he no longer wants to inherit the business. Before that conversation can happen, a zombie outbreak traps the fractured family inside, forcing them to fight for survival while confronting old resentments and cultural expectations. Ng produces alongside Mike Morrison, with Lum executive producing and Jessica Ally, Jared Cheer, Natasha Jung, and Paolo Valdes serving as co-producers through Dear Hero Studios and New Diamond Film Inc. The ensemble cast includes Vincent Cheng, Phoebe Miu, Alannah Ong, Aleks Paunovic, Morgan Taylor Campbell, and Lochlyn Munro. The production has received support from Telefilm Canada and Creative BC, with Canadian distribution secured through Photon Films.
