Love You Messi

Love You Messi is currently in production as the second Karbi-language feature from director Khanjan Kishore Nath and producer Ranjit Teron, working under Rura Rura Entertainment. The film follows Rang, a young boy from the Karbi tribe in a remote hill village whose world revolves around soccer and his hero, Lionel Messi. When he learns Messi will play a match in Mumbai, thousands of kilometers away, the boy embarks on a journey with his dog Tung Tung. The project recently attached UK-based Hong Kong executive producer Hiu Man Chan following meetings at the Cannes Film Market; Chan will oversee international sales, festival strategy, and distribution outside India. Portions have already been shot in Karbi Anglong district in Assam, with filming expected to complete by the end of 2026. Nath, who won the National Film Award for his 2020 short film, emphasizes that the story transcends sports fandom to explore themes of aspiration, humanity, and the courage to chase dreams against all odds.
