Key Change

Key Change follows Dharini Sharma, a scrappy, ADHD-fueled music producer hustling out of a cluttered LA apartment to land his three indie artists a record deal at a make-or-break Troubadour showcase: Camila, his luminous Latin-pop girlfriend who's quietly been packed for six weeks waiting for him to become a partner instead of just a producer; Diamond, a velvet-voiced alto too afraid of judgment to hit her own high note; and Santiago, a Chicano hip-hop/doo-wop crooner with two left feet and a heart the size of Jalisco. When Dharini publicly humiliates Camila by mislabeling her track at a gig and she walks out, the same night brings a second blow: the estranged father who disowned him a decade ago has died in a car crash, and a social worker informs him he has a precocious 9-year-old half-sister, Isabella — dyslexic, brilliant, and full of love for the version of their father Dharini never got to meet — who now needs somewhere to land.
