Project Summary
Joe and James: Boys to Men is a Channel 4 documentary that reunites Inbetweeners stars Joe Thomas and James Buckley nearly two decades after they first played awkward teens navigating school life. The travelogue-style road trip sees the pair exploring how adulting works and how to make the most of midlife without a crisis. With their contrasting personalities and approaches to life mirroring their on-screen dynamic, Thomas and Buckley embark on unconventional adventures both at home and abroad as they search for answers. The show is being produced by Idle Industries in conjunction with Fudge Park, the production company founded by Inbetweeners co-creator Damon Beesley. Beesley serves as producer alongside Will Macdonald, the former Monkey boss who founded BBC Studios-backed Idle Industries. Channel 4 commissioning editor Vivienne Molokwu described their chemistry as undeniable, noting their genuine friendship and different perspectives make them both engaging and entertaining.
