Project Summary
Jig is a six-part mockumentary series heading into pre-production for Netflix, created and written by Lisa McGee of Derry Girls fame. The comedy explores the high-stakes world of competitive Irish dancing, following best friends Cara and Fletcher from the struggling Sweeney School of Dance in Derry as they take on their slick, sponsored rivals from Florida. The series is produced by Orchid Pictures, the London-based production company founded by Crown executive producer Suzanne Mackie with an exclusive Netflix deal. McGee executive produces alongside her longtime Derry Girls collaborators Caroline Leddy and Liz Lewin, plus Suzanne Mackie. Production is set to begin filming in Northern Ireland in 2027, marking McGee's third collaboration with Netflix following Derry Girls and How to Get to Heaven From Belfast.
