Gasigogi
Project Summary
Gasigogi reunites Miracle in Cell No. 7 director Lee Hwan-kyung with Indonesian production powerhouse Falcon Pictures for an emotionally charged drama about fatherhood. The film takes its title and central metaphor from the stickleback fish, a species in which the male alone guards the nest and sacrifices himself to feed his offspring. Lee has described the project as deeply personal—a companion piece to Miracle in Cell No. 7, which honored his daughter, while Gasigogi is dedicated to his son. The production is being developed specifically for Indonesia, with Lee emphasizing that the film will breathe with Indonesian lungs and root itself in local storytelling traditions around family, faith, and community. Producers Frederica and HB Naveen are shepherding the project through Falcon Pictures. Principal photography is expected to begin within the coming months in Indonesia, though specific shoot dates and locations have not yet been announced.
