Gandhi (Untitled Sudhir Mishra Gandhi Film)

Director Sudhir Mishra is in pre-production on an untitled biographical drama about Mahatma Gandhi, with Manoj Bajpayee attached to star as the iconic freedom fighter. The film will focus on a previously undisclosed chapter of India's independence history, covering the final six months of Gandhi's life and his journey through the troubled regions of Bengal before arriving in Delhi in September 1947, months before his assassination. Saurabh Shukla has joined the cast. The production is set up with Anubhav Sinha's Benaras Mediaworks as the Indian production partner, with Narendra Hirawat and NH Studioz coming aboard as producer and presenter. Filming is expected to begin in September 2026, with production planned for Kolkata as well as Gujarat and Bihar. The project is being structured as an international co-production with European partners.
