Project Summary
Fear of Butterflies marks Georgian director Ana Urushadze's third feature following her Rotterdam prizewinner Supporting Role. The project reunites Urushadze with Estonian producer Ivo Felt's Tallinn-based company Allfilm, which co-produced her previous film. The detective story follows a woman on the cusp of 30 experiencing strange mental and physical changes, with Urushadze describing the film as incorporating mysticism and body horror elements. Amid ongoing tensions in the Georgian film industry, Urushadze is seeking international financing and has not yet determined where the film will shoot. The project is in early development with no production timeline or cast announced.
