Before You Leave is a feature drama exploring the lasting impact of war, currently in pre-production for an October shoot in the Hunter Valley region of New South Wales. Jye Currie directs and co-writes with Edward Vassie, marking his third feature following The Promise and Beat. Gary Sweet stars as Dusty, a Vietnam veteran grappling with mortality and a lifetime of unresolved trauma, alongside Marta Dusseldorp as Rose, a social worker with struggles of her own. Produced and majority financed by Green Frog Productions, the Newcastle-based independent production company founded by Currie, the film features Alex Mangano as producer and Bailey Watts as director of photography. Production is scheduled to begin filming in the Hunter Valley in October 2026.
