Project Summary
Amanda the Adventurer is a live-action horror feature in development at Blumhouse Productions, based on the indie puzzle-horror video game series from developer MANGLEDmaw Games and publisher DreadXP. The project was announced at the Blumfest panel at New York Comic Con in October 2026, marking the first in a multi-project deal between Blumhouse and former YouTube host Matthew Patrick, known as MatPat. Patrick will produce alongside Epic Pictures CEO Patrick Ewald. The film follows Riley Park, who inherits her reclusive Aunt Kate's house and discovers VHS tapes of a seemingly innocent children's show featuring Amanda and her sheep companion Wooly, only to realize the characters are communicating directly through the screen. Blumhouse and the producers are currently in talks with writers and directors to helm the adaptation.
