Alex Edelman's Just for Us

Alex Edelman's Just for Us is a witty and incisive conversation about antisemitism, algorithm-driven echo chambers, and a Robin Williams loving gorilla who is fluent in sign language. Connecting with the audience in a way that blends the comedic timing of a hilarious stand-up set and the dramatic structure of a particularly nerve-wracking dinner party story, Alex brings the audience along to relive his night at a white nationalist meeting at an apartment in Queens. As he weaves personal details of his Ashkenazi Jewish Bostonian upbringing into his experience empathizing—and maybe falling in love?—with members of this group, he invites and challenges the audience to join him in his own complex and humorous exploration of identity. The production is scheduled to rehearse beginning February 2, 2027, with previews February 24–25, 2027, opening February 26, 2027, and closing March 28, 2027, with an extension through May 2, 2027, at Florida Studio Theatre in Sarasota, FL.
