Scott Garvie is the EVP of Business & Legal Affairs at Shaftesbury (Toronto), where he has overseen all development, financing, sales, and recoupment arrangements since 1994 and served as Executive Producer on every Shaftesbury production — including the flagship series Murdoch Mysteries (now in its 20th season) and You're Killing Me (Acorn TV, 2026). A trained lawyer who graduated with an LLB from the University of Toronto Law School (1984), he formerly served as Telefilm Canada's legal counsel and is an officer and board member of Shaftesbury. He served four consecutive terms as Chair of the Canadian Media Producers Association (CMPA) from 2016 to 2020, sits on the FilmOntario Board, and has been recognized with multiple Gemini Awards, Canadian Screen Awards, a Golden Screen Award, and the 2017 Douglas James Dales Industry Builder Award.
